Meet Krish
Dr. Krish Subrahmanian is a local pediatrician, educator, and member of the Air National Guard. He is Chief Medical Officer at our county's Medicaid plan and nationally recognized for his work on child and community health.
Medical professional. Local pediatrician, University of Minnesota Assistant Professor, and Chief Medical Officer of Hennepin Health.
Public servant. Member of the Minnesota Air National Guard, serving as an Air Force Flight Surgeon. Nationally recognized for advancing child and community health.
Active community member. Little League baseball coach, arts and child advocacy non-profit leader. Former high school teacher and long-time campaign volunteer.
Proud SD49 resident. Together with his wife, Krish chose Eden Prairie as the place to raise their three young children — drawn by the area's strong public schools, commitment to parks, clean air and water, and a culture of kindness and respect.
Why I’m Running
My parents immigrated to this country and community, hoping for a better life than a predestined future of poverty. They chose Minnesota as the place to raise a family. What they found was more than opportunity. They found neighbors who broke bread with us, helped dig us out after winter storms, and showed up in quiet, practical ways. Through teachers and coaches, through that Minnesota spirit of welcome, my path took shape. That’s why my wife and I settled here too, and why we’re raising our three kids here. My life, my career working for the well-being of Minnesota’s children and families, and now my candidacy, are only possible because this community chose to invest in us.
Priorities
Krish is deeply involved in many of the issues facing our community and state. In the legislature, some of his key issue areas will be:
A “Kids First” Agenda: Including expanded access and sufficient funding for accessible early childhood care, our public schools and parks, and addressing gun violence.
Defending rights, science, health & personal freedom: Including reproductive rights, immigrant rights, and investing in science, environmental protection, and public health.
Good governance and fighting fraud: Delivering quality services that make a difference in people’s lives, like good roads, Medicaid, and accessible childcare through accountable, honest, transparent government.
Solving problems – together: Carrying on Senator Cwodzinski’s legacy of kindness and civility in politics, and bringing people together to help our neighbors and make the state a better place

A message from Eden Prairie and Minnetonka community leaders:
Dr. Krishnan (Krish) Subrahmanian is a beloved local physician and dedicated active community member who lives in Eden Prairie with his wife and three children. Dr. Krish serves as Chief Medical Officer at Hennepin Health and co-chairs the Early Childhood Caucus for the American Academy of Pediatrics Minnesota Chapter.
Like Senator Cwodzinski, Krish has had a life-long passion for service. His early work included combating the HIV epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa and helping children with critical illness through the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative and SeriousFun camps. In addition to being a celebrated physician, he is an educator, teaching at the University of Minnesota medical school, as well as a member of the Air National Guard, where he has served as an Air Force flight surgeon.
This is a small example, maybe, but it's one we think of: as coach to his son's Little League team, Krish encouraged the kids not only to have fun and to play to win, but also to cheer on the other team when they made their own good plays. The point was clear: winning does not require putting anyone else down.
We are supporting Krish for office because we believe our community deserves leaders who bring people together, who listen first, speak with respect, and lead with heart. The spirit that makes Eden Prairie and Minnetonka great places to raise a family is the same spirit that can guide our state forward: one of kindness, stewardship, and shared purpose.
